Good Time Lounge

A LEGENDARY CHEF’S RESTAURANT

Project

Phil & Anne’s Good Time Lounge

Proof had the honor of collaborating with the late Chef Anne Burrell and restaurateur Phil Casaceli to create the branding and interior design details for their restaurant on Smith Street in Brooklyn. The goal was to craft a classic identity with a modern attitude—flexible enough for expansion while capturing the restaurant’s warm, playful, and unmistakably stylish spirit.

We developed an identity rooted in the swank supper clubs of decades past. A distinctive nameplate paired with a coordinated symbol became core elements of the brand—appearing throughout the restaurant, on the website, menus, and business cards. The result was an identity that felt both nostalgic and fresh.

Smith Street Storefront

The visual system included multiple variations of the logo and monogram, designed for versatility across applications. On the Smith Street storefront, the identity created immediate presence and a memorable first impression within the neighborhood’s dining scene.

The contemporary storefront combined with the graphics gave great presence in this Brooklyn neighborhood.

A Personal Paisley.
Brand Application Custom Wallpaper

Chef Anne Burrell asked us to design a custom paisley wall covering inspired by one of her signature blouses. We studied the original pattern closely and redrew it from scratch, then refined scale and color through several iterations to achieve her desired palette. The final wallpaper became a dynamic, vibrant focal point—anchoring a private room with energy and personality reflective of Anne herself.

BRANDED MOMENTS
The logo translated effortlessly onto china and glassware, adding subtle branded touches throughout service. These details reinforced the atmosphere of a place designed for celebration—where exceptional food, hospitality, and personality come together.
“I started in the restaurant business at the age of 19.
I loved the atmosphere and the camaraderie of the restaurant business. I loved not having to go to an office.
I loved making people happy.”
